The fast changing technological scenario poses to the Institute a challenge of continuously updating its curriculum and faculty to be able to provide state-of-the-art education to the students. Changes, both major and subtle, have been made by the different departments of the Institute, to be better prepared for tomorrow. The Department has close interaction with a number of industry and Government agencies. The main modes of interaction are faculty consultancy, sponsored projects and short-term courses. The Department has a modern laboratory to serve the teaching and research needs of the students and faculty of the Department. All computers are connected to the departmental LAN which is a part of the Institute-wide area network.

Access of reputed journals in various branches of engineering through web portal of IEEE is available for the use of students and faculty members. The department has more than 60 computers, two Sun V240 servers with Solaris OS and 22 Sun-ray 1g thin clients. All computers have latest configurations to fulfill the needs of VLSI design and simulation software’s used in the field of electronics. In addition to the central library, the department has its own library which has reference books, journals etc. for the reference of the students and staff members. Previous project and training reports are also kept in this library for ready reference to the students. The department is well equipped with softwares and hardware required for the design and simulation of electronic systems. These include

VLSI Design: - Xilinx ISE, FPGA training boards, Cadence EDA tools, Microwind.
Embedded System Design :-
Proteus VSM, Universal Programmers, Embedded Development Tools for Microcontroller
Digital & Analog Circuit Simulators.
Mechatronics :- VSIM
MATLAB & SIMULINK.
PCB Designing Software
.

The Department has a dedicated PCB manufacturing facility, in which students can design and fabricate PCBs as per the requirements of their projects. This lab has been set up to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and to remove the barrier in project design and development.
