ACADEMICS

  • By working together, while maintaining our focus on mission, our staff

>> Assist students to clarify their academic and career goals.
>> Inspire Students Learning and Creativity.
>> Promote students academic achievement.
>> Support students persistence to graduation
>> Steer students toward advanced and professional studies.
>> Help students accept responsibility for their educational development.
>> Encourage students to perform service to the broader community.

As faculty, most of us are engaged in evaluating student work on
a systematic basis. It is a shared responsibility among institutional professionals to create and sustain transformative learning experiences
for students. We observe how well students are learning the concepts, theories, and methods we teach. Assessment process allows us to collect information about the levels of learning when they arrive, what
they achieve during a semester’s course, and what learning is
retained as they progress toward a degree and life afterwards.
Ultimately, assessment tracks learning as a developmental process & also provides us with a continuous self-reflexive basis for improvement.
When learning is accepted as an activity that occurs throughout
and across the college experience, the success of promising practices provides the basis for growth in faculty, staff and the students they serve.
